The Guest House of the Botanical Garden is located on the outskirts of a small rural village, framed in the enchanting landscape of the Allione Valley in the Alps of Northern Lombardy, in Northern Italy. Ancient traditions of mountain people still live among the centuries-old chestnut grove and the majestic conifer woodland : water, wood and iron have been, and still are, a source of income and culture.
n this picturesque setting the Centre of Environmental Education of the Botanical Garden with its Guest House was born and now provides a starting point for various excursions and outdoor activities, in the enchanting geo-mining park of the Allione Valley along with the eco-museum of the Green Road of the Orobie Alps.
Ideas for environmental education are given by educators of the nearby Vivione Alpine Botanical Garden, the Chestnut Grove and the Blueberry Field, which implement the offer thanks to specific educational workshops.
Obtained in an attic on the second floor, the Guest House has a spacious kitchen and four bedrooms with bathrooms. From the windows one can see the Adamello and Concarena-Bagozza peak, as well as the Vivione pass. A large hall houses the xylotheque, a collection of wood specimens of trees and shrubs from all over the world.
The building also hosts a family restaurant and bar, with typical cuisine from the Camonica Valley with special prices for guests staying at the Guest House, as well as a small grocery store.
